Michael Sass Painting

While in my search for great art, I had to look closely when this indicated a painting, excellent work by Micheal Sass, such perfection on each brush stroke

Michael Sass paints landscape realism in pastels and oils although his preference is for the versatility of pastel with its enormous range of colours, its permanence and non-fade qualities. Michael’s forte is his ability to paint extra-large pastel paintings in landscape realism.  His attention to detail enhances his love of painting rocky rivers and lakes so that the rocks and pebbles can be seen under the water.  His unique style with pastels is something that he developed himself with time and practice and each new painting brings new ideas and excitement. Michael is a member of the International Guild of Realism.

This painting was created out of admiration for the amazing gardens which grow in Tauranga, New Zealand. A combination of a sub-tropical climate and volcanic soil with an unlimited supply of water makes this area of New Zealand the dream of all keen gardeners.
The peaceful forests of New Zealands Northland will acquaint you with New Zealand's largest living Kauri trees. Standing 50 metres tall, the Kauri are one of the world's mightiest trees and their forests give shelter to many other plant types like the taraire, kohekohe, towai and northern rata trees. They are also a useful refuge for threatened wildlife such as the endangered North Island kokako and brown kiwi
